Bluebird® captures over 100 years of rivalry between New Zealand and Britain


It’s Bluebird® vs Walkers®, Chips vs Crisps, New Zealand vs Britain, as these two rugby nations go head to head in June and July.

The two countries have been clashing on the rugby field for over 100 years, and with the release of Bluebird® Lamb and Mint potato chips, and Walkers® Prawn Cocktail potato chips, the deep rivalry between rugby fans is set to reach new heights.

“New Zealanders are extremely passionate about this deeply-rooted rivalry and we wanted to capture this by giving rugby fans across the nation a chance to get in on the action and commemorate the nations clashing once again,” said Jodene Nigro, Global Brands Manager at Bluebird.

“New Zealanders love stepping up to the challenge, and to do so we’re pitting a flavour unique to our nation, Lamb and Mint, against the unique British taste of the Prawn Cocktail to keep this great rivalry fired up off the field,” said Nigro.

The two flavours make up the Crunchtime range and are now available in New Zealand for a limited time in 80g and 140g sizes. Bluebird® Lamb and Mint potato chips contain no artificial colours or preservatives, and Walkers® Prawn Cocktail potato chips contain no artificial colours or flavours.
