Threat to contaminate infant formula with 1080: arrest made

Police have arrested a 60-year-old businessman over a threat to contaminate infant formula with the poison 1080. Commissioner Mike Bush made the announcement this afternoon at a press conference held in Auckland. The man was arrested this morning and charged with two counts of criminal blackmail. Call for submissions on microbiological criteria for infant formula

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) today called for submissions on food safety microbiological criteria for infant formula. The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is calling for input from food businesses and providers into new food safety rules.
